Avoiding smiling and hiding your smile behind your hand can become pretty miserable. After all, a smile goes a long way to connecting with people and show that you care. But what happens when you are an adult and you don’t want to wear metal braces? Fortunately, modern advances in cosmetic dentistry have made discreet teeth straightening possible.
At Staplehurst Dental Practice in Kent, teeth straightening for adults is what we do best. Understanding that many people want to straighten their teeth but can’t bear the thought of metal brackets and wires, we offer both fixed and removable treatments, designed to straighten adults’ teeth gently, quickly, and above all, discreetly. Whether you opt for Invisalign or Six Month Smiles braces, our experienced dentists will help you decide which treatment is better for you.
Invisalign is an innovative treatment that employs a series of invisible, removable, custom-made and comfortable aligners to help move your teeth into the right position. Invisalign aligners are almost invisible, therefore you can continue smiling without anyone notice that you are undergoing treatment.
Invisalign aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology that has proven to be highly effective over time. Your dentist will provide you with a series of aligners, which you will have to change every two weeks or so, in order to proceed to the next stage of your teeth straightening treatment. The aligners can be removed whether you wish to eat or brush your teeth, but you will have to wear them at least 22 hours per day for effective treatment.
Unlike Invisalign, Six Month Smiles are fixed onto the front teeth to correct moderate types of tooth misalignment. Six Month Smiles braces work just like regular braces, but do not alter your bite or jaw alignment. They are ideal for patients who want to straighten their front teeth quickly for a special occasion. Because they are made of clear brackets and tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires, they are virtually invisible.
Interested in teeth straightening in Kent but not sure which option is best for you? The only way to know for sure is to be examined by one of our dentists. Contact us to book your appointment today.
