Dental implants provide your dentist with a permanent way to replace your missing teeth. At Kent clinic Staplehurst Dental Practice, our skilled implants team can replace one, some, or even all of your natural teeth with the help of implants.
To put it simply, dental implants are replacement tooth roots. They are placed directly in contact with your jaw bone in a small operation, which is carried out here at our modern Kent dental practice.
The number of dental implants you will need will depend on your clinical need. If you need many or all your teeth replaced, you usually won’t need as many implants as teeth, as several teeth – in the form of a bridge or denture – can be supported by one implant. When you come into our Kent practice for an implant consultation, your dentist will let you know how many implants you will require.
We offer All-on-4 implants at our Kent practice, which enables your dentist to restore a full jaw of teeth using just four dental implants. In this case, your permanent new teeth will be attached at the same time.
All-on-4 treatment and immediate tooth placement isn’t suitable for all implant cases; your dentist will discuss the best way to fulfil your needs at your initial consultation.
With standard dental implants, a healing period of a couple of months is required. During this time, the implants integrate with your jaw bone, providing an extremely strong base on to which your new teeth will then be attached.
Once false teeth – a bridge, dentures, or crown – have been attached to your implants, they will look and act just like natural teeth. You will be able to eat a full, healthy diet including all your favourite foods, and of course you will also be able to smile with confidence.
