Dental veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments at Staplehurst Dental Practice in Kent – and it’s not difficult to see why. They enable a dentist to perform a full smile makeover with minimal intervention and very little preparatory work required on your teeth, meaning that they stay strong and healthy.
Read on to discover how veneers could transform you smile in just a couple of appointments at our Kent dental practice. . .
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are placed over the front surfaces of your front teeth to improve their aesthetic appearance. One veneer can be used to improve the look of a single discoloured tooth, whilst your dentist can use a full set to create a smile makeover.
At Staplehurst Dental Practice in Kent, we are keen to stress that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” approach in cosmetic dentistry, and of course veneers are no different. They are individually hand-crafted porcelain shells that are bonded to the surface of your prepared teeth with a strong dental bonding agent.
They originated in Hollywood, and are a quick and effective way to enjoy a celebrity smile. Veneers look entirely natural, whilst at the same time creating a perfectly straight, alluringly white appearance. Whereas with other options such as dental bridges or crowns, there is very little preparation of your teeth required – in fact, some types of veneer require no preparation at all.
At our Kent practice, we will first invite you for a consultation with a cosmetic dentist, who will check that this is the best treatment to suit your needs. They will prepare your teeth by removing a very small amount of enamel from the surface, to aid with the bonding practice. We offer all patients local anaesthetic for this enamel removal at our Kent clinic.
Once your veneers have been made up, we will perform a test fitting to check that you are entirely happy with their look and feel before bonding them in place when you are sure that you are completely satisfied.
